I think it's the for the same reason that SRT said that he never comes on: People come on, see that there have been no updates since August, think the site is dead, then leave.
So basically: Update the site often.

The alexa ranking is pretty jibbed. Me visiting the site regularly for three months got ourselves in the top 500,000.
But good to know we still have a rating: the alexa bar is currently not on my browser.
